Lord Howard of Penrith
CHAIRMAN

Before joining CRUX, Philip Howard was CIO of Beazley, the insurance specialists and prior to that he was a senior independent director of Schroders, having acted as a non-executive director since November 2008. He was Chairman of Tarchon Capital Management LLP and spent a number of years as deputy to the Chairman of Lehman Brothers in Europe until 1997. He was also the partner in charge of international fixed income at Phillips & Drew. Philip joined CRUX as Non-Executive Chairman in September 2018.

ALISTAIR REID
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Having worked in the investment management industry, or banks servicing investment management companies since 1979, Alistair has gained significant financial services experience. He graduated as a Bachelor of Laws in 1975 and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1978. Alistair first obtained board experience as a director of Morgan Grenfell Asset Management and related subsidiaries from 1988 to 1993. More recently Alistair was a director of Thornhill Holdings, a wealth management and unit trust management group, from 2005 until it was sold to Cazenove Capital Management in 2010. Alistair was heavily involved in the infrastructure of the investment management industry by being a member of the Bank of England Steering Committee on Crest (the UK securities settlement system) and by being on the SWIFT Securities Steering Board when SWIFT started to design and use messages for the securities industry. Alistair joined CRUX as CEO in March 2014.

RICHARD PEASE
FUND MANAGER

Richard has over three decades of experience in the financial industry. His first role in fund management was with the Central Board of Finance for the Church of England where he ran two funds. There followed a short period at Windsor Investment Management, where he set up and ran the European Unit Trust and in 1989 Richard joined Jupiter Asset Management where he started and ran the Jupiter European Unit Trust and several other European funds. In 2001 he helped to set up New Star Asset Management where he launched and managed the New Star European OEIC and its sister fund, the New Star Dublin-based OEIC. On the acquisition by Henderson Global Investors of New Star in April 2009, Richard became a Director of European Equities and continued to run the New Star European funds.  In October 2009 the European Special Situations fund was launched and Richard was its manager at the outset. Richard joined CRUX in June 2015 following a Scheme of Arrangement that allowed him to merge the Henderson European Special Situations fund with the CRUX European Special Situations fund, a process which ensured that Richard has managed the fund, uninterrupted, since October 2009.

William Kerr
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Prior to joining CRUX, William Kerr was CEO of Lloyd George Management where he was responsible for overseeing operations, regulation, compliance and shareholder relations. Before this, he was a director at Financiere Indosuez up until 1991. William joined CRUX in June 2019 as a Non-Executive Director. William is a qualified ACA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
