INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

The aim: to capture growth while protecting the portfolio from potential downside

Four key criteria for stock selection:

The CRUX European Special Situations Fund has a rigorous investment approach, seeking to achieve long-term capital growth by identifying and investing in the best stock ideas within its investment universe.

Identifiable Business Strategy

Companies that have high barriers to entry and strong pricing power which enable them to generate robust earnings with growth potential

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Picking out businesses whose management have proven track records and meaningful equity ownership of the company they manage

Sound Finances

Seeking out businesses that are not highly capital intensive where the return on capital employed exceeds the cost of capital. The team will always look for companies with strong free cash flow and higher than usual dividend yields

ATTRACTIVE VALUATIONS

The managers focus on businesses that have relatively conservative valuations against the peer group and the market. If valuations are high then it is considerably harder to exceed expectation
